The Comfy Sweater

Maroon sweater- St. John’s Bay (via Goodwill) ~$4
Long sleeve grey top- Old Navy ~$7
Black leggings- Walmart ~$7
Sunglasses- Wet Seal ~$3
Gold link necklace- Thrifted (via Salvation Army) ~$8
Ugg boots (gift)
TOTAL COST: $29

A few weeks ago, the most chic blogger of all my daily reads, Atlantic Pacific, posted herself wearing a “fisherman sweater.” At my next GW shopping trip, I came across this chunky knit piece and snapped it up immediately. It’s so comfy, I have worn it a handful of times in the last month, which is rare for me- I like to give even time to all my pieces. This was a relaxing weekend look, so I paired the thick sweater with leggings to balance it out. I’ll definitely be rocking this sweater again soon with skinny jeans.
The minute I reviewed the pictures for this post, I realized how silly my UGGs look with my toothpick legs- Oops. Perhaps the “tall” variety wouldn’t be so strange? Regardless, they are the most comfortable shoes I own, so on a day when comfort was important, I wasn’t super concerned with what my feet looked like.

Weekend Watch...Sort of?

Hello Readers from the Most Magical Place on Earth!
I am vacationing in Disney World with my lovely brother, A. I have a High/Low clothing item to share with you and a few great shoes for fall. Sorry my list isn't comprehensive, but my focus is on spending time with the favorite brother and enjoying all the Magic here.
Left: I found these pants in Ralph Lauren's latest collection. While this isn't a brand I ever buy new, I do like to get inspired by looking at their new pieces. These equestrian themed skinny pants definitely caught me attention! At $120, they're totally unpractical!
Right: These look-a-likes from Forever 21 are around $13! Yes- they are leggings, not pants. I'd like to see them in person, but they're a well priced alternative to the RL version.
I LOVE this $60 leatherette skirt by NY&Co. Yes- it's beyond the range I usually look at, but a leather or leather alternative skirt has been on my list since fall began! I'm still looking around, but I like knowing that the trend is strong enough that multiple stores should carry similar, lower priced options.

These two faux-croc pumps are from DSW and retail for around $40. I think skins like croc are very fall and winter weater appropriate. The red mary-jane shoes are a bit more sassy, whereas the black ones are more standard.

Nothing says autumn quite like a riding boot. This pair from DSW are real leather and retail for around $70. I might have to order these..
This pair of deep tan ballet flats also work as a great mock-loafer, with their beautiful metallic link detail and tassels. They retail for just around $26 and come in 4 other colors.

Thanks for tuning in! See anything I missed? Comment or email me at BsGoodwillHunting@gmail.com or tweet me at BsGoodwilHunt

Ina Inspiration

Pink and White striped Oxford- Ralph Lauren (via Salvation Army) ~$2
Black Leggings- Under Armor (gift, old)
Sunglasses- Wet Seal ~$3
Swavorski Mickey Earrings- Disney World (gift)
Pearl necklace (gift)
Black gladiator sandals- Ruff Hewn ~$13
TOTAL: $18

Have you ever watched the “Barefoot Contessa” with Ina Garten? She is one of my favorite Food Network chefs. Her show is filmed in the Hamptons, full of New England style. In nearly every episode she cooks in an oversized Oxford with the collar popped and a pearl necklace. I’m just learning to style button-up shirts in a feminine way and I think I’m kind of loving them over leggings.
RED ALERT READERS: I wear leggings as pants. Judge away! I held off for a long while after the trend started, but then I realized that I am not ashamed of my body, so leggings as pants are okay! Of course, the styling is important when doing this, and I think the length and more full shape of the top helps balance the tight look on the leg.

Fall for UGGs

Tan sweater dress- Chadwicks (Salvation Army) ~$3
Navy Leggings- via Gabriel Brothers ~$4
Red and white scarf- Vintage (from mom)
Chestnut boots- UGG (gift, retails for $155)
TOTAL COST: $7

I may have jumped the gun a little bit on wearing a sweater dress but it was cool in the morning and my church is notoriously chilly (to me). Also, this is the first time of the season that I’m wearing my UGG boots. I hated UGGs for a long time in high school, and I realized it was because I had never tried them and didn’t own a pair. “FUGGs” are NOT equivalent, regardless of the price. If you are interested in a boot of this style, go for the UGG. I have had mine for at least 4-5 years and they are in great condition. I treat them every year with water proofing spray and avoid wearing them when it’s raining (if possible). They are still fluffy inside and so cozy. As a person who is notoriously cold, they are perfect for me. I realize that for a blog that emphasizes good deals, UGGs seem like a bag choice. However, this is simply an item your are not going to come across in a thrift store. I have NEVER seen a pair in any color or size. I HAVE seen them in stores like Marshall’s or TJ Maxx at reduced prices. Another piece of fall weather wear that I love are leggings. Leggings in all colors and styles. I cannot wait to break out the rest of my leggings and boots.

Second Chance Shirt-Dress

Pink paisley shirt dress- Too She She (via Junior League) ~$ .10
Pink leggin- Boscov’s ~$5
Gold chain necklace- Salvation Army ~$9
White skinny belt- Goodwill ~$2
Black gladiator sandal- Ruff Hewn ~$13
TOTAL COST $29.10

So way back on my first ever trip to our local Junior League, I tried on this dress. I have been searching for a shirt-dress and this one was pink and paisley to boot. However, I didn’t love it, even for $7. I had already found 3 other pieces that I loved, so I just said “No thanks” to this piece. However, weeks later, I returned to the League for their $1 bag sale and what piece do I recognize on the racks, but this very dress. I already knew it fit, so I snatched it up. For TEN CENTS I can definitely get interested in this dress. I normally wouldn’t style this dress with leggings but it was cold out and I was headed to church, so for modesty’s sake, I popped them on.
This is my first real attempt at a top knot hair style and I like it. Next time, I’ll try to get it a little more “top.” Unfortunately, I get ponytail/bun headaches, so I can only leave it up for a few hours before I rip it down and massage my scalp for 20 minutes.
Tell me readers, How would you style this dress, especially accessories, I feel like these shoes weren’t the best match… Comment or email me at BsGoodwillHunting@gmail.com
